What does facial care contain?

Their composition varies according to brands and indications.

They generally include :

• Water and fats in variable proportions: ensure the hydration of the upper layers of the epidermis.
• Lipophilic or hydrophilic active ingredients with various properties (moisturizers, antioxidants, anti-wrinkle...).
• A sun filter to protect the skin from the effect of ultraviolet rays, the main cause of skin aging.
• Preservatives, most often mandatory to avoid bacteriological contamination of the product. Only certain very greasy creams do not contain any.
• Perfumes. Pleasant, they can nevertheless be at the origin of allergies and are disadvised in a period of solar exposure because of the risk of photosensitization. Their use is not systematic.
